Nikki is an award-winning professional belly dancer  currently living in the Boston Metro area. She has performed all across the United States as well as in Cairo, Egypt.  She began dancing as a child, training extensively in tap and jazz before beginning belly dance in 1997 in Albuquerque, New Mexico at Dancers Supporting Dancers. At DSD she studied with Michelle of Farfesha Dance learning Egyptian, Turkish and Tribal belly dance styles. In 1999 she moved to Baltimore, MD to pursue a BS/MS degree in Cellular and Molecular Biology at Johns Hopkins University where she cofounded Egyptian Sun Productions. In August 2005 she moved to Boston to pursue her Ph.D. degree in Biology. She joined Mavi in fall 2006.
