“HORUMI”
The horumi dance, one of the most intricate in the Near East, comes from the former Soviet republic of Georgia. It dates from the Middle Ages, when Georgian warriors fought to keep their homeland from being overrun by invading enemy armies. Their heroic struggle is remembered in the martial steps of the horumi.
